Public bug reported: Hello !
As the Gutsy LiveCD crashed on boot, I installed 7.04 and then upgraded immediately. Feisty did run flawlessly, but Gutsy didn't boot. I edited the GRUB param so that I could see the kernel messages, and I get an error saying that /sbin/modprobe failed. It is preceded by some lines seeming like a core dump indicating that module loaded is ide related (I can try to boot again and take picture if you think it's relevant). Of course, as ide fails and as all my HDs are ide, I'm writing this using the previous kernel ... I'll post an lspci output taken from this same machine. Thanks and regards, BenoƮt ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- boot : modprobe fails directly after Gutsy upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162802 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
