I find that Kdevelop has a bug in the find in files interface for remote
shares only:

Ubuntu 7.10

file->open correctly uses the network folders interface and allows you to work
on remote folders.
edit->findinfiles tries to use the interface but will not open an ssh or ftp
share

It *could* be that there is a simple syntax bug around the "remote:"
part of the path. I tried several variations to no avail.

workaround: use sshfs or smbmount to establish a share. That is usable in
edit->findinfiles
