Thanks for the suggestion! Actually we are working on using (A) only and by default. Before that happens, (B) needs be kept. Instead of splitting vmtoolsd/open-vm-tools services, we might fix this issue in scripts, make sure when 'hostnamectl' cmd executes, the dbus.service is running.
