Public bug reported: I have a remote server running Ubuntu 18.04. When I ran apt upgrade today, I got an error message from grub that original boot device is not found, asking me to select the disk for installing boot loader. As per the suggestion on the prompt, I selected all listed devices. But I still got some error messages when installing the boot loader.
I tried to run grub-emu to verify that the bootloader is installed correctly. I am getting the following screen, with lots of garbage text. https://i.stack.imgur.com/tOrK8.png I am also attaching a copy of stdout redirected to a text file ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1818663 Title: grub-emu is showing garbage text To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1818663/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
