I have noticed one annoying thing with the new kernel. Now that Ubuntu is handling the display settings it overrides me and doesn't let me turn the brightness up all the way when I'm unplugged. This is likely a problem with the brightness program, but before the kernel didn't have access to it so it wasn't visible.
