Given the amazing product support, I decided to completely give up and re install the entire OS. That was an astonishing support for an LTS product ... For people who have a similar issue here are the things that does not work so don't waste time one: - rebooting - rapidly updating the system time - use a different time package - adjust the CPU frequency - switch different CPU modes - removing/reinstalling/purging: - chrome - xinput - xorg - xserver - I/O drivers - display drivers - sd drivers - network drivers - optical drivers - power management tools - browsers - recovery mode - rolling back
My recommendation: Install a Linux distro that respects LTS terms and does not push broken updates. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813819 Title: The kernel speeds up and down unexpectedly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1813819/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
