As I see the comments here, the fix is to modify the file /etc/ppp/ip-
up.d/0000usepeerdns according to comments #17 and #19. /etc/ppp/ip-
up.d/0000usepeerdns is part of the ppp package, so the bug needs to be
fixed in the ppp package.
