Public bug reported:
I use Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon.
I installed Xfce (from Synaptic) because I wanted to try it.
Then I tried it, then when I went back to GNOME, my background was all
black, and I couldn't right-click on the desktop, and "Places" kinda
didn't work because I cant open Home folder, desktop, music, Computer,
etc.
Now I uninstalled Xfce, but still this problem. :(
