I disagree that any modules which modify sound should be used by
default. I think the defaults should keep audio in its original raw form
as much as possible.

However, if you can convince upstream to enable module-echo-cancel by
default then Ubuntu would get it by default. Please send your request
to:

and tell us the new bug ID.
