I cant see how this could break anything. This fix appears to have been suggested last year in <a href="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/70432"; >bug #70432</a> but nothing was done. I have gone ahead and nominated it for inclusion as I feel it needs to be dealt with and that the patch is about as safe as it gets. Please say something if I'm wrong.
