I just installed the backports and certainly something new has happend. The new .asoundrc.asoundconf file seems promising, however this is the error that I get when trying to run alsamixer:
===================================================== ALSA lib conf.c:1588:(snd_config_load1) /home/zeraien/.asoundrc.asoundconf:8:18:Unexpected char ALSA lib conf.c:2849:(snd_config_hook_load) /home/zeraien/.asoundrc may be old or corrupted: consider to remove or fix it ALSA lib conf.c:2713:(snd_config_hooks_call) function snd_config_hook_load returned error: Invalid argument ALSA lib conf.c:3076:(snd_config_update_r) hooks failed, removing configuration alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: Invalid argument ===================================================== Most likely because alsa-base is 1.0.14-1ubuntu2, and a newer version is not installed by default. I've enabled all software sources and tried to apt-get install --reinstall all my alsa and linux-image stuff... I am running 2.6.22-14-generic and this is what I installed the modules for. I will try to uninstall alsa-base and see if something changes. ** Attachment added: "My .asoundrc.asoundconf" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10331872/asoundrc.asoundconf -- Ca0106 sound card no sound ubuntu 7.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
