I have the same issue setting up CalDAV from Kerio. This issue was not present in Lightening 3.3.3. Only after updating this morning did it occur. I can save events to local calendar. Previously everything worked fine.
Here is the precise behavior. 1) Select "Accept" on the invitation. 2) Select the calDAV calendar in the "Select Calendar" Menu. 3) Unselect and reselect the invitation email. 4) The "Accept" menu is still visible and nothing has been added to my Calendar. If I select the default "Home" Calendar, everything works fine. The invitation acceptance is sent and the creator of the event does get the confirmation.
