Why I think this could be useful, an example: Someone wants to copy a lot of files which will take a lot of time. So he starts the process and leaves the computer doing his work. When he comes back after a while he may find that copy process is still at the very beginning, interrupted by one single duplicate file name - which is annoying. I'd also suggest not to display each message (duplicate file etc.) in their own window but all dynamically and clearly structured in one single message window.
