I'm not sure this was a network problem: Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: Exception during installation: Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: Traceback (most recent call last): Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: File "/usr/share/ubiquity/install.py", line 765, in <module> Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: install.run() Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: File "/usr/share/ubiquity/install.py", line 135, in run Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: self.copy_all() Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: File "/usr/share/ubiquity/install.py", line 477, in copy_all Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: self.db, sourcepath, targetpath, md5_check) Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/install_misc.py", line 782, in copy_file Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: db.subst(error_template, 'FILE', targetpath) Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/debconf.py", line 83, in <lambda> Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: lambda *args, **kw: self.command(command, *args, **kw)) Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/debconf.py", line 104, in command Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: status = int(status) Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: '' Oct 23 14:50:16 ubuntu /install.py: Oct 23 14:51:01 ubuntu /install.py: Terminated ubiquity update process.
That's debconf complaining, and install.py is responsible for some sanity-checking of the install (keeping the right packages, copying files from the squashfs to make the final filesystem, etc.). Was the install bootable afterwards? ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1799489 Title: Installing Cosmic in a VM crashed in the installer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1799489/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
