The 'shebang' in /usr/bin/kvm_stat points to /usr/bin/python: $ grep \#\! /usr/bin/kvm_stat #!/usr/bin/python Which is usually python version 2.x. kvm_stat should work with python 2 or 3. Since python3 is the default and because python 2 is legacy, the shebang in kvm_stat should better point to python3.
