Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 18.04.1

USB 3.0 port

Sandisk 128GB USB 3.0 flash drive formatted to exfat (for compatibility
with other devices)

Transferring a large file (40gb), it begins to transfer but crashes
about 30 seconds later with an input/output error, crash is
reproducible. Same thing happened on Ubuntu 16.04.5 (with the same
hardware). The USB drive transfers a large file fine in Windows 10.

The crash only happens when connected to the USB 3.0 port. The transfers
go fine on a USB 2.0 port on the same machine (though much slower
obviously).

** Affects: exfat-utils (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
