Or you can just try to contribute to the discussion and coding upstream. Then we can discuss what needs to happen to properly represent the snap directory and the files therein in a way that people can migrate to. We are all in #snappy on freenode and on forum.snapcraft.io <http://forum.snapcraft.io/>, the code is on github.com/snapcore/snapd so please contribute there.
