Yes, I am using Synaptic 0.84.3ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 18.10 on 2 machines.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open Synaptic
2) Click "Reload"
3) In left pane open "Status"
4) In left pane select "Installed (upgradable)"
5) In right pane double select package and make sure in "Package" menu that is
it installed automatically
6) Double click on package
7) Click "Apply" and "Apply"
8) Once upgrade completes select "Installed" in left pane
9) Find package you've just upgraded
10) See that in "Package" menu it "Automatically installed" checkbox is no
longer active

I'm even attaching a screencast with the hope that someone can fix it
eventually.
