right now, 4.17 is not a thing In ubuntu, and neither 4.19 is even stable, we still have a lot of work to do to make the modules compatible with them. As said, if you want to play with kernels, you are free to use virtualbox-source and module-assistant to experience your fixes, and even post patches upstream (like I do).
Otherwise, the risk of breaking existing vbox installation, to fix unexisting bugs, doesn't make any sense (yet). ** Changed in: virtualbox (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1792670 Title: Kernel module cannot be built on Linux 4.17+ To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1792670/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
