Hello Matthias, or anyone else affected, Accepted gcc-8 into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-8/8.2.0-1ubuntu2~18.04 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
