There is a fix of cloud-init merged to main 5 days ago, see it here: https://git.launchpad.net/cloud-init/commit/?id=9c35f9762028b8bf15cdcd6b42c0fafc233ddda3 It fixed an issue of customizing a VMware VM, I'm wondering if you could cherry pick this fix to the current or near next Ubuntu release, or what's schedule of rebase the cloud-init version which contains this fix, looking forward to your comment.
