Public bug reported:

I use a lot of emblems and after upgrading to bionic (from xenial) they
have all disappeared.

Additionally, I cannot query or set them. Looking in the thunar output I
see this error when attempting to set an emblem:

(Thunar:1641): thunar-WARNING **: 09:13:53.631: Failed to set metadata:
Setting attribute metadata::emblems not supported

I could also not find any helpful information on emblems using gio info
(no metadata::emblems fields seem to exist).

I have a lot of valuable information encoded in these emblems and it
would be a significant problem if they were erased on upgrade.
