In case 18.04.1 server and destop iso use same kernel of v4.15.0-29 and the GUI works fine on destop, so the kernel should not be blamed.
In 18.04.1 server installation, if I kill bterm process of below: /usr/bin/bterm -f /lib/unifont.bgf -l C.UTF-i /lib/debian-installer/menu Some blur picture would be gone.
