Followed helpful link from @brad-figg (Comment 85 - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed) to enable -proposed.
Link also explains how to enable -proposed but only update selected packages from it (i.e just the kernel from 4.15.0-33 to 4.15.0-34) Re-tested 4.15.0-33 to check that Suspend still caused system to seize up and require a forced shutdown & then tested 4.15.0-34 where Suspend and Hibernate both work without issue. Tested on HP Pavilion with Intel Pentium N3540 (Kubuntu 18.04 amd64) @cmeerw - thanks for updating the tag to verification-done-bionic - much appreciated -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1774950 Title: Suspend fails in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 18.04 but works fine in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 17.10 (and on Kubuntu 18.04 using kernel 4.14.47) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1774950/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
