Hi, I am new to Ubuntu.

This is pretty confusing, that there are two different applications for kind of
the same purpose.
Why I use Add/Remove software for some stuff, but Synaptic for other stuff?
This is confusing to me...

I discovered that I could install Conky and GKrellM via the command-line
using apt-get.

I don't understand why some are "Simple" and some are "Advanced", and
why there needs to be a difference on how they install. I just want it
to work and be simple and consistent.
