Not sure if that is a bug in the Nautilus upstream source or the patches
applied by the Ubuntu devs break the behaviour.

  Steps to reproduce:
  ---
  1. Run
  gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences recursive-search 'never'
  
  2. Restart Nautilus
  
  3. Search within Nautilus
  
  Current behavior
  ---
  Even after setting recursive-search to 'never' the search is still executed 
recursive.
  
  Expected behavior
  ---
  After setting recursive-search to 'never' the search should be not recursive 
anymore (only the current folder should be searched).
  
  Reproducible in:
  ---
- Ubuntu 18.04 with Nautilus 1:3.26.3-0ubuntu4
+ Ubuntu 18.04 with Nautilus 3.26.3-0ubuntu4
