And as an aside, I don't have any influence in how Debian changes the
packages - if this proposal is made in Debian for their
nginx-{light,full,extras} flavors it can be extended to include our
flavors, but we'll have to do some decision making, *and* we need to
allow a method to migrate existing nginx-core users to nginx-newname
(where newname is the 'new' name for the Core Flavor we established back
in 14.04).  Otherwise, upgrades in-place between OS versions are very
likely to explode/break.
