the thing in /usr/local is a manual installation from source. That would explain why the installation crash, because the package postinstall run a command that links against libgphoto2 to setup the udev permission. That libgphoto2 in /usr/local seems to take precendence over the system installed one.
I think the package could be fixed by LD_PRELOADING libgphoto2 in the postinst.
