Public bug reported: Ever since I tried I always found that Ubuntu libsodium-dev package is forcing --enable-minimal configure option. Sadly, this reduces the available library features, including support for xchacha20.
This forces people not to use the package and go for libsodium sources when you build such things like dnscrypt-wrapper [1] I raised a question to libsodium developers [2] about the most sensible approach and the response was that other distributions are shipping without this configure option. It very much makes sense for Ubuntu to keep a consistent feature set. Therefore I'd like to request dropping --enable-minimal from libsodium.
