After installing plymouth_0.9.3-3_amd64.deb gdm3 STILL DOES NOT START. Without haveged installed lightdm still takes AGES to start.
plymouth 0.9.3-3 is NOT a resolution to this. And PLEASE change the title back. The original complaint was: gdm3 does not start, not that the boot process never completed. As I said: "In both cases I can see the X process running (Xwayland or Xorg) but no vt has it."
