Christopher, 1) On 16.04 I was using nvidia driver from Ubuntu packages, but can't really remember what version. I'm not sure if the history of package installation is recorded somewhere. On the other hand, I can try running 16.04 from USB stick with several different versions of the driver.
2) Sorry, I still didn't test it, will try tomorrow. The single time I tried it before, it gave a very poor performance, laptop was almost unusable. 3) Testing 4.18 seems a way easier, I can do it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775717 Title: CPU/GPU Fans suddenly go 100% RPM on Asus ROG G752VT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775717/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
