Specifically the instructions in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsXPUnderQemuHowTo
appear to be necessary with respect to creating udev configuration and modprobe
configuration.
One fix is to update the file
vmhost206:/usr/share/doc/kqemu-common/README.Debian and mention this
or make the package already do the appropriate creation of /dev/kqemu
I tried this on AMD64/ Ubuntu 7.04
