1) To confirm a regression, did this issue start to happen after an
update? if so, which and when precisely?

2) To keep this relevant to upstream, please continue to test latest
mainline kernel (now 4.18-rc1) as it becomes available. Could you please
advise?

3) There is no need to assign yourself unless you will submit a fix
patch towards this upstream soon.

4) Regarding your comment:

This report is only scoped to the segmentation fault. Also, anything you
found while testing an upstream kernel is not supported here in Ubuntu.
