I found a solution on a wiki page that managed to fix the problem by following (sort of) the guide here (http://www.jimbo7.com/wiki/index.php?title=WG311v3_LINUX_WIKI) after a fresh install of Gutsy.
The differences between the procedure I took and in the instructions were: 1. I used Synaptic to download & install the "ndiswrapper-common" and "ndiswrapper-utils" instead of "module-assistant" 2. I stopped at the end of the "Set ndiswrapper to load on startup" section (i.e. I didn't do the" WPA-PSK with wpa_supplicant" or further sections) After that I was able to use the Network Manager to connect to wireless networks normally. -- Netgear WG311v3 wifi card not detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155291 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
