I've tried boot-repair and many other solutions, but I was always getting an error that boot/efi directory was not found. Finally I tried disabling the UEFI mode and it worked like a charm. I don't know why I've never seen anyone mention to disable this, instead I just found more discription of how things work and tried to create partitions etc etc...
