Public bug reported: I have already tested on a fresh install and on beta. I am currently on ubuntu 18.04.0 LTS fresh install. Before install nvidia-384 Hibernation works. After installing this package, calling either pm-hibernate, hibernate or s2disk commands lead to the s2disk snapshooting system strings and it hangs there. Sometimes the fans go to maximmum speed during this hang. The only way to go out is the REISUB trick or force shutdown on the power button.
Hardware: Laptop: dell I15-7567-A30P, Nvidia gtx 1050ti, intel 7th generation, 16gb of ram. # swapon -s Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/sda8 partition 16726012 0 -2 The swap partition was choose during the installation and works. Obs: On ubuntu 17.10 it worked fine. I also tested creating a new partition file and partition, updating initramfs. It always leads to this same behaviour. ** Affects: uswsusp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: card drivers graphics hibernation nvidia s2disk swap -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1770491 Title: Hibernation doesnt work after installing nvidia-384(s2disk hangs) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/uswsusp/+bug/1770491/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
