Public bug reported: Once I go into systemsettings and change to "suspend when lid is closed" it works perfectly. However, this is the expected behavior by the overwhelming majority of users.
In addition, oddly enough, default for "press power button" is Do Nothing! This is absolutely wrong. Default should be "turn off power." $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Release: 18.04 $ apt-cache policy powerdevil powerdevil: Installed: 4:5.12.4-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 4:5.12.4-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 4:5.12.4-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: powerdevil 4:5.12.4-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-15.16-generic 4.15.15 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-15-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Wed Apr 25 13:17:25 2018 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-04-07 (17 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Beta amd64 (20180404) SourcePackage: powerdevil UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: powerdevil (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to powerdevil in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766967 Title: on new install, when laptop lid is closed, session is not suspended To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/powerdevil/+bug/1766967/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
