Hi mate.
Thanks a lot for your fixes and patches.
I succeeded applying your mandriva kernel fix (I've had a hell to get
it working), however I have some issues with my screen. It's been
flickering and have a bothering noise which I think it could be fixed by
re-installing alsa.
I did all I had to do with this machine in ubuntu, but in the meantime
(while devels get their work finished) I will not use ubuntu anymore on
this machine until there is a new LTS distribution (not alphas like
gutsy).
I'm pretty happy with openSuSE 10.3 and Mandriva 2008.0, and tonight I
will make up my mind on which shall remain in this laptop as I need the
rest of the space to try another distro.
I'm pretty disappointed with the ubuntu team, I will continue using
ubuntu in most of my machines, but some of them will be downgraded to
dapper LTS as per their long expiring support.
I've learned a lot with ubuntu and I will not turn my back on it, but
prefer to have 100% working distro on any machine. I have completely
erased windows from all my machines so I need real support and the only
way to get it is being on a LTS one.
Have a good time and enjoy your holidays.
Kind Regards.
Luis
