Public bug reported: --force is kind of bad in a maintainer script, as it is really hard to override.
For example, the only way I managed to skip that is by bind-mounting /bin/true on top of invoke-rc.d. Instead, the maintainer scripts should try to see if postgresql is running, if not - try normal start, and if that fails it really ought to skip database setup imho.... Or e.g. use force, only after trying the non-force restart. ** Affects: maas (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: subiquity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766218 Title: invoke.rc-d --force should not be used To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/maas/+bug/1766218/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
