Bug confirmed, seen on 2 different machines here : Upgrading a Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty to Gutsy creates for the new 2.6.22 kernel a grub's menu.lst missing the "initrd" entry.
Guess what ? The new kernel won't be able to boot the machine unless the correct "initrd" line is manually added...
