I have the same issue only with a different package: 'E:Dynamic MMap ran out of room, E:Error occurred while processing openoffice.org-evolution (NewVersion1), E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.'
I will attach my sources.list file. This started when my attempt to upgrade to 7.10 froze at the point "checking upgrade manager". I let it set for a couple of hours before rebooting. Now I get this error everytime I open the update manager.
