Hi, amavisd has to guess your fully qualified domain name. If it can't derive that from your hostname it will fail to start.
You'll see that in $ systemctl status amavis here from your log: Feb 11 05:11:07 ubuntuhp2000 amavis[9767]: The value of variable $myhostna...n Feb 11 05:11:07 ubuntuhp2000 amavis[9767]: a fully qualified domain name; .... When you run the above locally you'll get the full text. TL;DR the config is incomplete - fix it to ba a FQDN and it works. ** Changed in: amavisd-new (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1748750 Title: package amavisd-new 1:2.10.1-2ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amavisd-new/+bug/1748750/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
