Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better.
I did some research, and found that the dependency has been added quite recently. It looks like postfix indeed requires e2fsprogs, and it is being added because e2fsprogs is moving to be a non-essential package which means one can no longer expect it to always be present. See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=887277 for more details. Not sure what to do with the status here, but this might be effectively Invalid or Won't Fix. ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #887277 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=887277 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1748726 Title: postfix incorrectly depends on e2fsprogs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/1748726/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
