You convinced me :)
I will contact customer support within the next few days as time allows, 
reporting back here if anything comes of it. But for some reason I really feel 
there is something else interfering here, simply because it worked without a 
hitch on Feisty.

Yes I was going to do this on their website under their bug report area,
should I do it here as well?

I was using the official package provided by VB for Feisty, v1.5.0
I can no longer get this official version (packaged for Gutsy) from their site, 
but as you probably know, our OSE version in the repository is v1.5.0, which 
may be pretty close to the version I used on Feisty.(but I'm not positive).
Yes I am using the same windows version, with the same SP2 update file.

You are right, I was jumping to conclusions a little bit because the
bugs reported so far are not like this (potential) bug.
