Public bug reported: 1) XUbuntu 17.10 2) Sorry, not sure which package 3) Querying DNS resolvers that do not have recursion enabled should work 4) Querying DNS resolvers that do not have recursion enabled does not work
When trying to resolve a record via a nameserver that does not have recursion enabled, the lookup fails, "ping" for example returns "Name or service not known". Network connectivity/firewall/etc. and namerserver configuration is correct, dig and nslookup return the record. When looking at the traffic with wireshark while issueing the ping command, I can see the DNS request being sent out as well as the correct answer from the DNS server reaching the machine. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: linphone (Ubuntu) => ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742943 Title: DNS resolving broken with non-recursive resolvers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1742943/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
