Hello, I'm new on launchpad. I write from Germany and use Kubuntu 7.10. I the same problems as Phillip. Absolutly no prolems with using PCLinuxOS Kernel 2.6.18 or Kubuntu Edgy 6.10 on my system, but using Kubuntu Feisty Kernel 2.6.20 or Kubuntu Gutsy Kernel 2.6.22 show the problems above. Trying to boot the Live-CD for installing the OS ends in the busybox after showing this Sata-Problems. When I Plug off my Sata.Drives, there is no positive effect on this problem-->Sata Controller!! I use an Asrock Board ConRoe1333-D667. Kernel 18 works up from 20 the problems occured?!
