I proposed some other more constructive feature than the "embarrassment" rating tool before. Unfortunately it will never be implemented unless Canonical or somebody else will fund the development.
While it is actually not that complicated to implement, it certainly would be a great help for Ubuntu as much as for the Kernel developers itself. Bug #3382 - Should be able to attach hardware database id to bugs It proposes to enable bug reporters to more easily submit hardware information to bug reports. And giving the devs an easier way to query which hardware is affected. Step one: Add a GUI driven software to the Ubuntu distro which enables users to submit their hardware information to a central database. Step two: Allow the users to attach the DB IDs to their launchpad profile (multiple if needed). Step three: Allow the user to select which of his machines are affected. Step four: Allow the bug fixers to retrieve a list of affected hardware for a bug from launchpad. Like: give me all USB chipsets of machine IDs attached to this bug. This at least would give bug fixers a hint, where to start looking. -- USB devices are not recognized when having ehci_hcd modprobed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88746 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
