I got the same error message "E:I wasn't able to locate file for the linux-libc-dev package." attempting to upgrade from 6.10 to 7.04. The error message told me to report this bug against update manager and to include the files from /var/log/dist-upgrade, so I have attached three files. My machine is an amd64 dual core running Kubuntu 6.10. I downloaded 7.04 for 10 days using a dialup modem, then after 10 days I get an error message. David J. Bush
