Public bug reported: With 17.10 it's now possible (with some extra steps) to use PXE netboot with KVM on s390x. To make the most out of it we should have official s390x KVM (PXE) netboot images, at least starting with bionic, but better already for artful (to get things stabilized for bionic).
As folder and location I suggest to follow the same approach like we ave for other architectures: http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/dists/artful/main/installer-s390x/current/images/generic/ http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/dists/artful/main/installer-s390x/current/images/netboot/ Having a netboot image would be a step towards further usage (like MAAS ...). ** Affects: ubuntu-z-systems Importance: High Assignee: Dimitri John Ledkov (xnox) Status: New ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: s390x ** Attachment added: "PXE netboot with KVM on s390x - walk-thru.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1732094/+attachment/5008723/+files/PXE%20netboot%20with%20KVM%20on%20s390x%20-%20walk-thru.txt ** Also affects: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1732094 Title: Create pxe netboot images for KVM s390x To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-z-systems/+bug/1732094/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
