The issue I had either was this bug or something else, but somehow it's apparently working in 17.10. Basically, the domain(s) of the corporate vpn that I connect to resolve over the VPN again, while everything else resolves as usual. This worked fine in 16.10, was entirely broken in 17.04 and is back to working in 17.10.
